Radiance

Some of the best moments come about without ever having to leave the house.  This was taken in my backyard as I looked out to see the sun shining through the trees, bathing the forest in a lovely golden glow.

Into the Fog

Taken in Macdonald Wood Park. I grabbed my camera and took my dogs to the woods for a walk on a misty day because mist + trees is one of my all-time favourite combinations.

Overgrowth

There is an area in the forest behind my home that becomes overrun with plants in the springtime, making you feel as though you’ve walked straight into a fantasy land.  It may not be The Shire, but it’s pretty close.

Delicate

Taken in my backyard.  I am a sucker for some golden light moments, and the sun shining through the delicate leaves of these dying flowers gives me life.

Soft Glow

Remember those flowers from the previous photo?  This is them when they were a little bit fuller.  The soft light coming through provides a nice contrast to the dark, gloomy forest in the background, which is one of the reasons I love this one so much.

Eerie

There is a small boardwalk that runs along the beach that I find to be one of the most scenic spots in the valley.  If you live here, you probably know the place.  While walking there one day, it was super foggy outside, creating this ominously beautiful effect.

Pure Happiness

Taken on Northern Vancouver Island.  While on a camping and kayaking trip, there was a gorgeous forest behind the beach near the Robson Bight Ecological Reserve that I went to explore.  I found this area so calming with all the greenery and natural elements, making it hard to have to leave.

Shadows

So…as you may know by now, I have a soft spot for forests and fog.  I came downstairs one morning and the trees in my front yard were cloaked in mist, and this is one of my favourite photos from that day.

The Whopping Willow

Although it has had a bit of a manicure since the time this photo was taken, sitting near the Comox marina, this tree is just as whimsical to behold in-person.

Orange You Glad Sunsets Exist

The summer sunsets here in the valley can be beautiful sometimes, and this evening was no exception. Taken from my balcony, it’s such a nice feeling to just be able to sit outside and take in all the hues as the sun slowly descends. You just never know what each evening will bring!
